Ragchewer's Cardinal Rules

From: Ed Valdez DU1EV
Date: Tue, 13 Dec 2005 05:15:03 -0800 (PST)
Subject: Ragchewer's Cardinal Rules:

1. Listen, listen, listen. Our antennas our bigger than our microphones (God must have a reason for that).

2. Leave a gap between transmissions, to allow for breakers and most especially, emergency traffic.

--- du7fbt
1 Always identify your station when you first break in a QSO.
2 If you decide to tune your rig or antenna, get off at least 3kc off 7.035mhz.
3. "Good morning", "Hello Break" (without station I.D. is not an acceptable entry.)
4. If you want to have a contact, just identify your station with the entent of contact, then bring with you a vacant frequency to QSY.
5. Jamming is absolotely insane.
6. Whistling to tune your rig, does not only harm your finals, but also irate the operators using headphones.
7. Jokes are good if you dont hit bellow the belt. If want to pitch a joke, make sure you can catch the same joke.
8. Refrain from discussing politics on the air.
9. Avoid doubling with each other. All transmission must end with "over,"go ahead", or sign that you have ended your transmissio, so others will not double up with you.
10. No arguing, cause you will never influence a new friend with an argument.

(If you disagree, or have something else to add, please free to say so.)
